When Mali ventures farther into the rainforest than ever before, she meets new friends but soon realizes she is lost. Her adventure teaches her about courage, friendship, and the importance of finding her way home.
Friendship & Empathy
Mali is excited to welcome a new friend, but Dara begins to feel left out. Mali learns that true friendship requires kindness, respect, and making room for everyone.
Honesty & Promises
As Mali adjusts to having a new baby brother, she worries that Mama may not need her anymore. When she takes one of Kiri’s special treasures without asking, Mali learns about honesty, keeping promises, and understanding that love can grow without leaving anyone behind.
Bravery & Belonging
Mali feels nervous about her first day at the Rainforest Learning Center, especially when a challenging assignment does not go as planned. With teamwork and encouragement, she discovers that being brave means trying even when something feels difficult.
Adventure & Resilience
Mali and Dodi set out on an exciting mountain adventure but soon become lost in a dangerous storm. Together, they rely on courage, friendship, and perseverance to find their way safely home.

After twenty years as a high school English teacher, Amy created Mali’s World to help young readers explore big feelings through warm, approachable adventures. Inspired in part by her son’s time in Cambodia, the stories bring the wonder of the Cardamom Rainforest to children everywhere.

Amy is now welcoming inquiries from schools and libraries planning visits for 2027. Visits are available for individual classrooms, combined groups of up to three classrooms, and library groups or special events. Families may also have the opportunity to preorder books that Amy will sign in advance and bring to the visit.
